Welcome to our Seventeenth Season
2010-2011

After a modest beginning almost twenty years ago the Naples Orchestra and Chorus has become a premier volunteer music ensemble in Naples, Florida. With 55 instrumentalists and 35 vocalists under the baton of Robert Dale Herrema, its Musical Director, it provides quality classicalConductor and popular music admission free to the greater Naples Community in six performances during the season. In addition, special Easter Week concerts that feature Theodore DuBois' The Seven Last Words of Christ are held by invitation from local churches.

As a non-profit volunteer organization it has attracted talented local musicians and singers, many of whom are themselves retired professional musicians; others are talented amateurs. It provides a showcase to perform for personal satisfaction and growth.

Players The Naples Orchestra and Chorus also encourages talented local student musicians by offering them a chance to participate in rehearsals and concerts. No dues or fees are collected from students; in fact, the most deserving students are given small stipends or awards to encourage them to continue their musical studies at either the high school or college level.

Concerts are set this season for December 11-12, 2010, February 19-20, 2011, and April 2-3, 2011. Each weekend performance is scheduled for a Saturday evening at 7 pm and Sunday afternoon at 2 pm in the beautiful 600-seat auditorium of the Golden Gate High School. See 'Concerts" tab in panel on your left for all information.
